What is a Native Hawaiian Organization?

A community-owned model for prosperity

A Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO) is a community service organization serving Native Hawaiians in the State of Hawaiʻi. Under federal regulations (13 CFR 124.3), an NHO is a not-for-profit organization chartered by the State of Hawaiʻi, controlled by Native Hawaiians, whose business activities principally benefit Native Hawaiians.

Instead of building wealth for a few private owners, an NHO's businesses build lasting capacity for the whole community. That is the heart of The People's Tribe.
